“Bible” derives from the Greek term for “books” and refers to the OT (Old Testament) and NT (New Testament).
The 39 OT books and 27 NT books form the “canon” of Holy Scripture.
“Canon” originally meant “reed” and came to signify a ruler or measuring stick. In this sense the Bible is the rule or standard of authority for Christians.
The concept of “canon” and process of “canonization” refers to when the books gained the status of “Holy Scripture,” authoritative standard for faith and practice.
-Holman Illustrated Bible Dictionary

The Holy Bible is God’s revelation of Himself to mankind. And bears the record of relationship between and God and humans.
As God created us for a relationship, He fashioned out His numerous ways to commune with us. And one of them is His written word- Graphe (the Holy Bible)

THE ORIGINAL LANGUAGE OF THE BIBLE

The Bible was first written in Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek. It has come into our modern languages through translation. The Bible’s message is so important that has been translated into 3,312 languages. No other book has been translated more widely. And the trend continues.

THE WRITING OF THE BIBLE

The Bible was written over 1500 years by 40 different men chosen by God. Though they lived at different period of time in history, at different locations, in different family backgrounds, bore different names, yet as their writings or scrolls were collected and bound together in one book, called the Holy Bible, it is found that their stories, reports or messages followed a very successive trend as if they sat together to write it all.
Each of their writing is unmistakably and intentionally pointing towards one singular supreme being, the one who repeatedly says, “I am God! Besides me there is no other.” “I made the heavens and earth.” Etc.

Not only that God claimed to be who He says He is, but He has backed it up with evidence, signs and wonders. History justifies that His claim is true. You are also a witness to His mighty works. Aren’t you?

Are you not amazed at how the Bible was written by 40 different authors, and yet it maintained such a harmony and agreement.
Each author’s work makes reference or points to another author’s work though they never knew themselves at the time. Some authors have already died while others were inspired to write their books. Yet, there is harmony and agreement in their writings.
There is no contradiction among the writers. That’s a strong indisputable prove that God presided over it all. They never wrote down their own words but the words they heard from the mouth of God and from the Holy Spirit.
